Anxious Dwelling explores depressive feelings about the past and anxious feelings about the future. The photographs in this series were taken during a period of struggle, grief, and self discovery. As life changes before us, we sometimes wish to pause things or to keep them from happening at all. Unfortunately, that is not how life works.
The past few months have not been easy. I endured the death of a friend due to a heroine addiction, quit taking my depression medication and drank heavily, while trying to overcome a creative block. This series was a way to create and examine my past and present life through self portraiture and still life photographs.
