“My salad days, when I was green in judgment” -Cleopatra
(Shakespeare, from Antony and Cleopatra)
This work explores the disconnect between expectations and outcomes through a young adult’s perspective. Our generation's lack of trust can leave us feeling confused and frustrated, rather than satisfied and excited for the future. As a result, we become disenchanted.
My previous series was a collection of self-portraits taken during a period of struggle, grief and self-discovery. Moving away from self-portraiture, I decided to photograph friends to explore their thoughts and opinions related to their own experiences with disillusionment.
(There is no specific order between the notes and portraits. They are meant to be kept annonymous.)
